Description

Goodrevs® M8 Swingarm Spools Paddock Stand Bobbins. High-Density POM Rear Lift Points with Stainless Core for Motorcycle Stands & Lifting (Pair)

The Goodrevs® M8 Swingarm Spools are precision-engineered rear lift points designed for motorcycles that use M8 × 1.25 swingarm spool mounts, commonly found on larger sport, naked, and sport-touring motorcycles.

As part of the Goodrevs® LiftWorks™ collection, these spools are built for riders who perform their own maintenance and demand stable rear lifting, controlled paddock-stand engagement, and long-term swingarm protection, not disposable aluminum hardware.

Constructed from high-density POM (polyoxymethylene) and reinforced with a stainless-steel internal core and Grade 10.8 M8 hardware, they deliver smooth, low-friction lifting performance while protecting swingarm mounting points during repeated garage and track use.

Why POM Instead of Aluminum?

Most aluminum spools look tough but they transfer force, dig into surfaces, and chew through finishes fast.

POM is different by design, it's smarter than aluminum where it matters.

What riders notice immediately:

  • Smoother, more controlled lift with paddock stands
  • Less hook gouging and metal-on-metal wear
  • Reduced vibration and noise compared to aluminum spools
  • No anodizing to chip, scratch, or corrode

POM is widely used in motorsports as a sacrificial, wear-resistant material, meaning it protects more expensive components instead of damaging them.

Why M8 Matters

M8 spool mounts are typically used on heavier sport bikes, high-performance naked bikes and sport-touring platforms.

These applications benefit from increased thread engagement, higher clamping stability and improved load distribution.

The Goodrevs® LiftWorks™ M8 Swingarm Spools design pairs larger bolt hardware with a sacrificial POM contact surface, ensuring the spool, not your swingarm, takes the wear.

Key Benefits

  • Stable rear lift point for paddock stand use on larger motorcycles
  • Low-friction POM contact surface for smooth, predictable stand engagement
  • Stainless-steel internal core for torque stability and load distribution
  • Protects swingarm mounting points from stand contact and abrasion
  • Corrosion-proof construction for long-term garage and track use
  • Stealth black, low-profile design that blends with modern motorcycles

Note: Designed as a lift interface and protective contact point. Not intended to support rider weight.

Engineering & Construction

Unlike basic one-piece aluminum spools, the Goodrevs® M8 Swingarm Spools use a multi-component design:

  • High-density POM outer body. Sacrificial, abrasion-resistant, low friction
  • Stainless-steel internal core. Distributes clamping force and prevents over-compression
  • Grade 10.8 stainless M8 × 1.25 hardware. Optimized for durability and repeated installation cycles
  • Wide contact profile. Improves paddock stand hook engagement and stability.

This design minimizes common issues found in cheaper spools, including:

  • excessive hook wear
  • cosmetic damage after a few uses
  • over-compressed plastic or deformed aluminum

Comparison Table: Goodrevs® POM Spools vs Aluminum Spools

Feature Goodrevs® POM Spools Typical Aluminum Spools
Stand engagement Smooth, controlled lift with low-friction contact Aggressive metal-on-metal bite
Wear behavior Sacrificial surface protects swingarm and stand Spool finish gouges; damage transfers
Tip-over behavior Slides and abrades, less likely to dig into surfaces Can hook, dig, or deform sharply on impact
Corrosion resistance 100% corrosion-proof construction Anodizing wears over time, leading to oxidation
Noise & vibration Quiet, damped contact with reduced vibration Metal clank and direct vibration transfer
Cosmetic longevity Surface scuffs without visual or finish failure Scratched anodizing looks worn quickly
Load management Metal sleeves distribute torque evenly (engineered design) Load often transferred directly into aluminum body
Replacement logic Designed to be sacrificial and protective Often replaced after cosmetic or structural damage
Track + street suitability Excellent for both track use and daily street riding Typically optimized for track use only
Marketing reality Engineered protection system, not cosmetic hardware Commodity CNC accessory with minimal differentiation

Important Fitment Notes

  • Motorcycles may use M6, M8, or M10 spool threads depending on model year, region, or swingarm revision.
  • Some motorcycles may lack factory spool bosses entirely, even if commonly listed as compatible.
